Day 38
Today was another maintenance day. I started by going to the ridge with Posh because we had to clean up all the trash that the bear had removed from the dumpsters. When we were done with that, we headed over to East Hills, where we met with the sheriff to do an eviction. The sheriff went and knocked on the door and was able to confirm that they were gone. They also said there were dead roaches, which means we aren't taking anything out, and it will all be trashed out. We also changed the lock. Then Posh took me over to Bentley, where I continued taking pictures and doing warranties. I was able to get almost all of them done today, but not without problems. I found out that some of the apartments that were listed as vacant on my lists had actually been leased out, and I found out the hard way that there were people there. Then I had to start knocking on all the doors and asking the people who were home nicely if I could take pictures of their appliances. I only upset one person the whole time, so I guess that's a win. I don't really know. Over the weekend, some of the buildings at Bentley were struck by lightning, so the power company was out there the whole day, and when I was done with pictures, I had to go unload some conduit wire at Greccio's storage unit. Then I was done for the day and headed home a different way than normal, and it turned out to take much longer than my normal way. When I got home, I sat in the backyard with Christian and Leigha while Tribly made supper. We realized we didn't have enough eggs, so Christian, Naomi, and I made a quick run to the store for some eggs. We had a very different kind of meal for supper that I had never had before. It was kind of like a pasta sauce with eggs in it. We also had rice, fresh bread, and sweet potato fries with it. After supper, Michael led us in a learning component where he taught us a board and card game. Then we had time for conversation before going to bed.
