Day 74 November 5

Today was pantry day.  We started with our pickups as usual and got everything put away.  For some reason, one of the residents decided they were going to try to job-shadow me and tell me what to do.  Jenni did not stand for that.  Once we opened, people came in with a very selfish attitude, and I had to tell multiple people that they were taking too many items, and I even had to raise my voice at one lady to get her attention and then show her what she was doing wrong, even though she knew exactly what she was doing.  We had 70 people through the pantry, so it was pretty busy the whole time.  It did eventually slow down at the end, and we got packed up.  When we got back to the office, we unloaded, and then I headed home.  I tried to go to the grocery store after work, but I guess a car crashing into the store means it will be closed.  When I got back from trying to shop, I got ready to go eat supper with my host family.  We had fish tacos that were really good, and I got to know them a little better, and they got to know me a lot better.  Their names are Chuck and Maryanne.  After I was done with my host family, I came home and we celebrated Michael's birthday.  We had some cake and sang to him.  We talked for a while before eventually calling it an evening.
