Day 128 January 13
Today I did a variety of different things. I started by going with Doug over to Bijou to move a resident. They did not answer when we knocked, so we decided to go run a couple of errands. We started by going to Home Depot to pick up a snow shovel for the pantry. While we were there, we got a call from the carpet guys, and they said they were ready to get started in the apartment that we needed to move. We decided to just unlock the door and go in since the guy is deaf and could not hear us knock. We scared him pretty good, but he was excited for us to help. Since he was deaf, we had to communicate on paper. He had a lot of stuff to move, and it was very dusty. Once we had everything moved, we had to disconnect the stove so the carpet guys could move it when they needed to. The pliers we had for disconnecting the stove were not the right ones for the job, so we had to run back to Home Depot and get some vice grips. We were barely able to break the line loose with them. After we finished the move, we went back to the office for lunch. After lunch, Jenni and I went to pick up Natural Grocers. Then we took everything back to the pantry and unpacked it. When we were done at the pantry, Jenni took me over to Bentley to do some maintenance work. I started by opening the attic hatches in some of the buildings to check if there was any moisture. I had to carry the ladder up and down a lot of stairs. Thankfully, there was no moisture up there. After I finished, I picked up trash around the property and cleaned the dumpster enclosures. After that, I replaced some smoke detectors for a resident and shoveled some snow off the handicap ramps. I finished the day by taking a door off the library in the playground area, and then Doug picked me up and took me back to the office. When I got home, it was already time for supper, and Michael and Christians mom had made us a pot pie. After supper, I played with Naomi for a while and then relaxed the rest of the evening.
