Day 139 January 28
Today was pantry day. We got a late start, so all the volunteers beat us to the pantry. When we got there, I took right back off to go get Trader Joe's. It was the smallest pickup I had ever seen. It was only 10 boxes. They said that since their warehouse is in Texas, they have not got their deliveries for the past few days because of the ice storms. Since we barly had any food to put away we were done early and had a long lunch. After lunch, we got started, and it was a very steady yet very easy day. I helped move some meat and eggs around as needed and carried out some boxes when it was busy, but otherwise I was able to just walk around and make sure everything was running smoothly. When we were done for the day, we hardly had anything to pack up, since we had hardly had anything to begin with. We took about one cooler's worth back to the office and unpacked what we could into the fridge. After that, I finished putting the library doors back together after getting them painted. This did not take too long, and then I helped Jenni rearrange her desk before restocking the snacks and heading out. When I got home, I had time to relax for a little bit before we had supper. Christian had made a pork loin, and it was delicious. After supper, I led learning component. We made little smokies. We made pizza dough, and then I showed everybody how to wrap up the little smokies, and then we taste-tested when we were done. After learning component, I did not have anything else to do for the evening, so I went to bed early.
