Day 269 June 16
Today we started with a morning meeting, which I had not been to in a long time. After the meeting, Alden and I headed to Home Depot and bought a whole bunch of stuff for Bentley. Then we headed to Bentley. First, we did some organizing, and then I went to install a drawer with the new parts we bought, but it still did not fit. After that, we spent the rest of the morning doing some touch-up painting in a make-ready and fixing a few other broken things. Then it was time for lunch at the office for my going-away party. When I walked in, everyone was standing there, and a lot of people were wearing ears with my face on them. They made sure that all my favorite foods were there for lunch. There was pulled pork, a bunch of mac and cheese, cookie sandwiches, Dr Pepper, and Jody even made 4 ice cream pies. It was a great lunch. As lunch continued, I was surprised with a huge metal pig, which was an amazing gift. I was also given a bunch of cards from everybody. After lunch, we took some pictures and then I did an interview with Olivia to talk about my time at Greccio. After my interview, I said goodbye to a few people, and then I went back to Bentley. When we got back, we had to drill out the lock to our sprinkler control box because we needed to shut them off, and we had no key. We had to shut them off because a pipe burst and we had created a geyser. Then we spent a while continuing work on the make ready and hauling out all the trash we had created. Then we spent the last hour and a half of the day just cleaning up trash. At the end of the day, I turned in my keys since the only ones I had were Bentley keys, and today was my last day working there. Then we headed back to the office, and I had to say my farewell to Alden, which was hard because we had spent a lot of hours working together. Then I biked home. When I got home, Michael had made his chicken wraps for the final time, and they were delicious as always. After supper, I did some more deep cleaning of my room, which involved washing windows and lots of dusting. Then I relaxed for the rest of the evening.
